Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pantsuit

ok, so did you catch pantsuit herself at the DNC last night? if not, you can peep it below...

anyhoo, i will say that she was a tad more convincing than she's been over the last few months with her support for obama...still don't trust her, but she's surface-ly doing better, (even tho she tried to big-up herself and her philandering hubby every chance she got-lol!). good for her. being bitter must take its toll on your spirit. and at the end of the day...we're all (supposedly) on the same team, so let's get this going!!!

so today, i tribute Hillary "PANTSUIT" Clinton...(why you ask? cuz pantsuits make me feel warm and fuzzy)

This one's for you, babe!

DNC or Bust...

*you know about my technical issues, so please excuse the nekkidness of my post*

soooooooo, i woke up this morning bothered by the ignorance of the american people. as we all know, the democratic national convention begins in denver today. it shall be a historic and promising event...and personally, i can't wait to see/hear more from one of my faves, michelle obama.

anyhoo, the main thing that irks me is that (some of) these daggone hillary supporters have got to be the most disgusting, childish, backward-thinking people i've ever seen...EVER! now, i'm not going to get into the argument of obama vs. clinton. i believe that everyone has the right to support whomever. but, uh...can you at least know why and what you're talking about. and can you please accept the cards that have been dealt and move the heck on? i say that because i saw some dingbat chick on tv holding up a sign talking about protesting the convention because pantsuit wasn't chosen as veep. are you a democrat? how are you going to protest your own party's convention because your person LOST? you don't hear this from any edwards supporters *sniggle*, you certainly don't hear this from any of the republicans...only these clinton supporters. it makes no sense. i feel like these particular people model right after pantsuit...if you think you can bully people into doing what you want, you will lose. take a lesson from your master! she tried to jab and kickbox her way thru the primary, taking all kinds of low blows and stooping to unprecedented levels of desparation...and she STILL lost!

but back to the subject....i really hate the fact that these particular supporters think they can protest and make threats to get results that just are NOT going to happen. in fact, they (usually) backfire. during the primary, a lot of them went on rampages trying to make certain a black man would not win*....and a lot did not even care about what he did or did not stand for...but we see that tactic did not work. the goofball this morning gets on tv with her protest crew stating they are witholding their vote for "good political reason," yet we heard no reason except hillary isn't the VP choice. then, i saw an ad of a superdelegate who states she was a staunch hillary supporter (holding up a clinton sign) and that hillary had experience to be president, then she drops the clinton sign and holds up a mccain sign and says now i'm supporting mccain. gives no reason or explanation besides tha fact that her candidate lost...fair and square.

* i wish i could post the video in which there were numerous voters staing that they wouldn't vote for obama simply because he was black or that they supported clinton, but didn't really have real reasons...the F-it List posted it a while back tho :-) *

i never thought i'd see the day when such an important election would get lost in such foolishness. with the recession going on, including excessive gas prices, home foreclosures, extreme job loss, a wacky stock market, etc, you'd THINK people would do a lot more soul searching as to what is more important to them as an american citizen. all of this emotional mess is nothing but a distration and counter-productive to improving the state of the country.

but i have one real question for these people who think they can blackmail obama into doing what they want...which has never been done in us history....ARE YOU PEOPLE EVEN TRULY DEMOCRATS? i don't think i'll ever understand the science behind calling yourself a member of a political party then switching to the POLAR opposite party or not supporting your party over emotions. face it people, she lost. she will not be president in 2008. she will not be vice president in 2008. IT WON'T HAPPEN. i understand you wanted her to win. i understand that you supported her campaign and felt she should have been the dem. candidate...but not enough people agreed with you and she lost. that doesn't make you OR her any less an american. but in reality, everyone can't win. so to take a kindegarten stance, pout and shout because she in fact, did lose...is unnecessary.

no one likes people who aren't team players...this is (what i assume) largely part of the reason was not chosen for VP. and it says a lot that (some of) her supporters are acting this way...the same way she did. when you're losing, cut up, cause a ruckus, act a fool, kick, bite, scratch and scream your way to the top. only she didn't make it to the top and we have more important issues at hand now. you can march, sing, dance, hang from ceilings...but it's over. and more importantl, what do you hold true as a member of progressive society? what do you stand for and support as a voting member of the american mass? again, i am not trying to bash hillary and everyone has the right to support who they want...but the REALITY is that her time is over and she has nothing to gain at this point besides helping to heal the nation from the inside-which i thought was the point. be upset, be hurt that she lost if you are/were her supporter...i was when gore lost...and when kerry lost. also, i just want to say to these people who are insistent upon casting a negative light over this convention and the democratic party in general....if you can flip-flop candidates over frivolous reasons such as your PRIMARY candidate lost, then cupcake, you're not a democrat. you stand for self. and you my dear, will not matter come november.

***WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT THE PROTESTORS? WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE PANTSUIT FACTOR STILL OVERSHADOWING THE CONVENTION? HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE UPCOMING ELECTION?***

Truth Hurts....

so since we shined the light on pantstasia this week, i guess someone SOMEWHERE had to try and drudge something up on obama (the juice parts are in red).....

CHICAGO - Sen. Barack Obama sought Thursday night to extinguish a burgeoning controversy over another Chicago minister who supports him, denouncing the comments of a Catholic priest who said “a whole lot of white people [are] crying” because a black man was within reach of the Democratic presidential nomination.
The remarks by the Rev. Michael Pfleger, a white minister known as “Chicago’s renegade priest” for his liberal social activism in the city’s black community, came from the pulpit of Trinity United Church of Christ, the same church where sermons by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright came under scrutiny from critics who called them anti-American and racially divisive.
Pfleger, pastor of predominantly black St. Sabina’s Catholic Church, who fiercely defended Wright even as Obama eventually rejected his support, sounded similar themes Sunday in a guest sermon at Wright’s church.

Saying he was seeking to “expose white entitlement and supremacy wherever it raises its head,” Pfleger mocked Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York for appearing to weep at a campaign appearance before the New Hampshire primary in January, saying she was crying because “there’s a black man stealing my show.”
“She always thought, ‘This is mine. I’m Bill’s wife, I’m white and this is mine,’” Pfleger said in his fiery sermon.
As the racially mixed congregation responded “Amen!” and “Yes, sir!”
Pfleger pretended to cry and shouted: “And then out of nowhere came him, Barack Obama. And she said: ‘Damn! Where did you come from?! I’m white! I’m entitled! There’s a black man stealing my show!’
“She wasn’t the only one crying!” he said. “There was a whole a lot of white people crying!”
Then, sensing that he may have gone too far, Pfleger added: “I’m sorry. I don’t want to get you in any more trouble. The live streaming [video] just went out again.”

sooooooo, what about this is so troubling to some? hmmmmmmmmm, i wonder! and regardless, i have YET to understand the need to try and hold obama's feet to the fire for things OTHER people say....

All That Snipering Must Have Sniped Part Of Her Memory

this is just disgraceful. it is just a sad day when hillary is caught with her pantsuit down (@ F-it, 'pantsuit' is still killing me-lol!). but i must say that i was elated to see her exposed by the likes of sinbad. i am wondering how she thought she'd get away with this...like there was no other witness or attendee that would recall the events of that day. furthermore, she has written the same false account of that day in one of her books. thank heavens for modern technology...cuz there's video. hillary has taken her entitlement issues to another level with this one. i have no words for you ma'am.....

Hillary Tries To Shake Her Groove Thang

this here, is a hot and utter mess! it's such a mess that i had to watch it about 43 times. there is so much hilarity going on, i don't even know where to begin.....for your viewing pleasure (keep a small jar of soapy water nearby for eye-cleansing afterward)

i NEED to know who wrote and choreographed this debacle. and why were those kids not taught how to clap on beat at the same time? actually, i bet they had it down perfectly in practice, but once hilldog was actually there, someone probably felt the spirit and got over-excited, hence the off-beat clapping. but my personal favorite is the awkward way clinton is bopping around, looking super uncomfortable. she has that look that one may have if they got lost in a rough neighborhood and wanted to ask for directions, but were terrified...then when they mustered up the courage, they almost shat their pants while trying to look cool and comfortable with a fake smile and hip body language....i'm done.

that crap was hilarious! hillz, sit down madame...

BITNP & Friends In My Head

so tracey morgan hit up saturday night live to respond to tina fey's skit a few weeks back - "B*tch Is The New Black"....his is entitled "Black Is The New President"...take a looksey

thoughts?

************************************************

and on another note...have you ever seen someone famous or otherwise that you don't know, but feel like you could know and be good friends with? i like to call them 'friends in my head.' somethiing about them seems so relatable that i could actually picture us hanging out, going shopping, having play-dates or chit-chatting over brunch on a sunny day. i don't mean in the stalker way...but just someone you see that for some reason, you identify with....well, my top friends in my head are..

tracee ellis ross

first let me just express my deepest love for the show "girlfriends." now, i must acknowledge my disgust with how crappily their show was axed without so much as an announcement or finale. nonetheless, her character (joan) was my fave! well, actually toni was my fave, but for entertainment reasons. joan was my fave because i related to her. she's just as sentimental and silly as i am. she loved her friends and was extremely dependable...kinda like the mama of the group and that is so me....well, with a few dashes of fabulous fun sprinkled on top. and i love her fashion sense...i'd love to go shopping with her!

toni braxton

i LOVE her music. i really do. she's so cute! and her little boys are adorable. she seems like a fun, hip mom to hang out with and have play dates with. also, a piece of me feels for her family and their struggle with her oldest son denim's autism. i used to actually teach autistic men (whoa!) and i know the hardships. nonetheless, she has a down-to-earth vibe that makes her seem like that cool friend to hang with at the house while cooking out in the backyard with the kids, sipping some reisling and listening to some tunes.

dave chappelle

ok, i love to laugh. if there was a word bigger than love...i'd feel it for laughing. dave is the epitome of off-beat yet hilarious humor. and to top that off, he's extremely political and cultured in his own comedic way. and it always works. it doesn't matter where he is...he just says the craziest things and i would be on the floor holding my stomach literally from the pains of laughing too hard. dave is definitely the party/hang-out friend. not necessarily out in the clubs or anything....but for a good time (get your head outta the gutter), i'd definitely call dave.

queen latifah

i've loved queen latifah since "ladies first" when she had those twin back-up dancers and was wearing the african clothes. back then i didn't fully understand why, but as i grew older, i began to really appreciate her lyrical offerings. she rapped of something different besides men, sex and booty-shaking. not to mention i identified with her physically...well, height-wise. she's tall. i'm tall and i wasn't always comfortable with being tall. she used her height (basketball) and never tried to shrink into the ideal of standard hollywood beauty. she's evolved into such a multi-faceted star...i mean that literally. with the acting & singing, she's become a household name. she's even been nominated for an osacr...that's phenomenal for someone who started off in newark, nj rapping guys under the table like a champ!

sade

sade needs no intro, no explanation, no nothing. she's sade for crying outloud! she'd be like my older calm mother friend. and i would have to resist the urge to just blurt out "can you sing something please?" every time i saw her. she seems like such a calm, elegant women. and i love her accent. she also seems like a wise woman. i could see her saying "now pcd, maybe you should try this instead..." as we relaxed at a spa. then i'd say "ok, now sing 'love is stonger than pride'" and get pinched on the arm because i'd probably say that every 4.5 seconds.

***WHO ARE YOUR FRIENDS IN YOUR HEAD & WHY? WHO DO YOU REALLY THINK YOU COULD HANG OUT WITH OR RELATE TO? (PLEASE PICK SOMEONE THAT IS ALIVE)***

The 2nd Super Tuesday: Clintonians Vs. Obamaniacs

for those who know me personally, you know this election is like air to me...i need it. yes, it wears me out, but i am so engrossed in all things election that i'm half-crazed and out of my mind. nonetheless....here we are at the the second super tuesday contests in texas, ohio, rhode island and vermont. i will not bog my readers down with all of my political speak....(trust me, once i get started, it's hard to stop me-lol)...so i'll take a lighter approach.

with all of the past contests, debates, ads, rallies, war of words, supporter antics and political pot-shots taken and thrown from obama and clinton, which one do you remember most? or which one really made an impact on you? which one solildified your support or distaste for the other candidate? what really turned your stomach or made you a proud supporter of _________? feel free to answer any or all of the questions....and remember if you live in either of the aforementioned four states...GET OUT AND VOTE TODAY!!!!!!

The Pretty Ugly Spotlight: B*tch is The New Black

it is blatant who tina fey supports as the presidential democratic nominee...but i am a bit put off by her approach. first things first, i am disturbed by the phrase "bitch is the new black." not because i don't understand the usual intention of the phrase...being that to suggest that *blank* is super popular and practically a staple at this point....like the "little black dress." i've heard it before regarding other colors, "pink is the new black" or whatever color seems to be the hottest at the time. or in other arenas of comparison like "30 is the new 20." ok, i get that.

and you can call me conventional if you want, but i do not feel that the word "b*tch" is an appropriate reference, even in the jovial sense, regarding something as arduous and pressing as the presidential nomination race or its nominees. i say this because some people do not know when enough is enough when joking. you start calling her "b*tch" in a public forum and saying its empowering, then what might someone call obama or mccain and try to justify it by a weak line of "i'm just joking!" or "i didn't mean it like that." (hence the entire n-word debate) aside from this, what i do not get is the implied suggestion of race in this clip of "b*tch is the new black." moreso by the blond than tina fey, her hand/arm gestures seemed contrived and suggestive of quote/unquote blackness....like all she had to do was cross a couple of fingers and she would have been screaming "westsiiiiiiiiiiide!!!!"

in that regard "black" stopped being a color about a dress or any other popular garment or accessory and it became about skin color...and who might that be a quick, slick shot at? hmmmmm, let's see....possible the only black candidate ever to give a white candidate (a woman no less) a run for her money, especially after it was assumed she would bury him after the super tuesday contests.

again, the race jab was cleverly and quickly inserted into someone's diatribe about why mrs. clinton is the right candidate. i have no qualms about those who choose to support mrs. clinton, but i do wonder why the low-blows and desparate attacks on things such as race, gender, religion and schoolyard tactics like whining about pillows, plagiarism, question order and of course tears are being used as a way to justify her race (or presumed self-entitlement)<<< ok, that was a jab-lol!

what do you think?

p.s. just so you know, "the pretty ugly spotlight" is the opposite of "the pretty spotlight" in that it does not shine on pretty things, but is a light shone on foolishness. "the pretty spotlight" is the opposite.

Hillary Clinton Will Steal Your Mops

why am i NOT surprised? maybe it's because of how she's given the finger to the states she's lost in....or maybe because of how she discounts the caucuses...or maybe her campaign's willingness to get down and dirty in order to gain delegates??? watch your back or hillary might try to swindle you out of some windex and pine-sol too!!
