Pending Divorce

thats right people...PCD wants a divorce. and altho some may consider this an extremely private matter, don't fret...its been coming for a while. i toss and turn about how to properly handle this, but there really isn't any one answer, so i'll have to just wing it i guess and hope everything works out in the end.

dear thighs,

you suck! you are not like you used to be. you changed up and now i don't know you anymore. i feel betrayed. i don't trust you anymore. and without trust, there can be no love, so we're done!

PCD

yes, i am divorcing my thighs. they are just not working with me these days and i'm not feeling this change. and altho i certainly look nothing like this..

or...

i still earn for yesteryear when they didn't communicate with each other so much.
they used to be distant affliates. now, they seem like twins bucking for siamese status. not cool i say!

***WHAT BODY CONCERN HAS YOU READY TO UP AND DIVORCE IT? TUMMY, ARMS, TUSH...WHAT GIVES? DON'T WORRY, WE'RE ALL FAM HERE :-)***

It's A Celebration!

Today marks my 111th post! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! and yes, i chose to celebrate the 111th because the number is composed completely of number 1's...i'm quirky like that-lol!!! so, in celebration, take a few secs and get your moonwalk on in the name of PCD-WHOOPEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

also, because of this mounmental occasion, i am treating myself to 3 wonderful gifts in order of fabulousness...

1. my very own personal assistant.

like most, i am busy. sometimes, there aren't enough hours in a day to accomplish all that i set out to. i hate that. also, there are some things i'd rather not do and love that i can pass it off to the next person. i wouldn't abuse the person and have them live with us or be on call 24 hours a day, but working for me would be no cake-walk. i don't want a friend, a homie, someone to shoot the breeze with....its all about W-O-R-K. and 6 hours a day is just fine....thanx!

2. chef

as much as i loooooooooove to eat, i must admit, i really don't like to cook. every now and again, the spirit moves me and i actually want to get in the kitchen...but those times are few and far between. not to mention, i get tired of trying to find new and interesting things to fix. i only need you 5 days a week...thanx!

3. permanent driver

i am tired of driving...period. sometimes, the traffic and other drivers up here can be so crazy, you feel like you're trying to jump into the Indy 500. you have to push and force your way over, around and into the flow...horns blare, taxis bulldoze you out of the way...it's just not a peaceful experience. i'd rather be able to sit back and enjoy the ride...thanx!

***IF YOU COULD CHOOSE, WHAT 3 THINGS WOULD YOU CHOOSE TO SPLURGE ON TO MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER OR MORE COMFY? IT COULD BE AN OBJECT YOU'VE BEEN WANTING OR SOMETHING ELSE...BUT WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE***

School Daze

morning all! i woke up this morning to a wonderfully crisp breeze and instantly thought back to when i was i college. the fall semester was my favorite. spring time was too distracting with the beautiful flowers, sweet air and warm feel. i struggled the most during the spring because it was so hard to sit in class while looking out of the window. and even tho fall was cooler, no flowers were in bloom and made people's noses run...it was like a new start for me. every fall semester meant i was starting again...a new year, new level of classes, and sadly....new students (freshmen).

it really makes me laugh because i vividly recall walking onto campus as a freshman. i might as well have been wearing a big sign that said NAIVE because i thought everyone was so sweet and friendly. little did i know freshman were targeted prey for the upperclassmen. most of them also lacked a lot of focus...they were more interested in hanging out, meeting people and dressing up. the way girls dressed always made me laugh. even as a freshman, i didn't fall into that "fly girl" category because i was an art major and had 3 hour studios. so imagine how silly i'd look straddling a wooden stool for 3 hours in hooker heels, big dangly earrings and tight pants. but even if i weren't an art major, i still thought it was silly to come to class dressed like you were entering the club on saturday night. i'd chuckle to myself as girls would try to sneak into class undetected because they took so much time getting ready....only to have their click-clacking heels give them away. as time wore on, i grew up. i buckled down into my studies and began to appreciate my opportunity for what it really was.

i ended up taking 5.5 years to graduate because i changed my major but it didn't matter to me. i loved school. i didn't want it to end. i met my mentor 2.5 years before and felt like i couldn't get enough. it was like i was in a daze of learning and i loved it. i cared less about the parties and social scenes, less about what i wore to class and less about the guys. there was nothing like undergrad...and if i could, i'd go back and do it all over again.

***IF YOU WENT TO COLLEGE, WHAT DO YOU MISS MOST ABOUT IT? IF YOU DIDN'T, WHAT DO YOU MISS ABOUT BEING THAT AGE OF ABOUT 18-23? WHAT WERE YOU DOING INSTEAD, PERHAPS GETTING Y OUR OWN PLACE OR CAR OR MAYBE TRAVELLING? EITHER WAY, WHAT DO YOU MISS ABOUT THE SCHOOL OR YOUNG PEOPLE'S DAZE?***

I Really WANT To Miss You...Kinda

*some pics NSFW*

the other day, a repeat of the dave chappelle show was on. it was the episode with charlie murphy and rick james...one of the funniest episodes ever! as i laughed like i'd never seen it before, i really felt a little blue. why? because i miss dave chappelle. i really miss him. his show was hilarious. his stand-up was super funny. and he even had great musical guests on his show. his comic relief was effortless. and i miss it.

the good thing is that while his exit from the spotlight seemed abrupt and early, he went out on a high note. he didn't wait until he dried up all of his funny juices and became utterly wack. he left lots of people wishing, hoping, praying, he'd come back...and i respect that ANY day over someone who doesn't know when to throw in the towel.

another example is the show Girlfriends. they were just snatched off of the air with no proper finale or farewell show. they left us hanging...and even tho i'm sure there were more politics involved rather than personal choice, the point is people were salty about their exit. we wanted them back. shoot, i still do.

now, on the other hand, there are some who reeeeeeeeeeeeally squeeze us for every drop of tolerance we have. they tap our wells of love dry, they abuse our well-wishes, they beat us over the head with propaganda that sometimes is lacking in quality...and me no likey. so i compiled a list of folks who i would like to see SIT DOWN....but the thing is, its not because they aren't talented (like tiffany "new york" pollard or ray-j), its just that they're doing too much. and i personally don't even get the chance to say, "wow, what happened to so-and-so? where've they been?" here goes:

BEYONCE: while i like her style, singing and her FIRST album, i feel like she really tries to force us to adore her. i know she wants to be an icon, but i'm sick of it. the last album made me barf, then the re-release was just pointless. now, the first album was insane. loved it! and now she's everywhere even when her "people" are trying to get their shine. sister solange was on some show, and they're asking beyonce how she feels about her and her new album. michelle has been trying to release her album for, like ever, and now beyonce is releasing not one, but TWO singles on the day michelle's album is scheduled to finally drop. thats shady to me. it's like, anything to distract from something or someone else....

HER HUBBY, JAY-Z: while he is a great rapper and has had great success, what is he, like 40 years old? are we trying to set some type of record? perhaps be the first geriatric rapper? and i thought he retired? altho i'm not a big fan of rap these days, if there is a great song that comes out, i give it its props, like nas...but i'd like to see jay-z get his complete grown man swag on and say peace to rapping. he's got the business aspect going, so no one's saying sit down and twiddle your thumbs....

RIHANNA: now before you bite my head off, i will say, i like rihanna a lot. i think she's cute, spunky and different. but let's face it, the pipes aren't all that. she has a gimmick, and its propelled her super stardom..but i would hate to see her ride it into the gutter. she's on top right now...but pushing the envelope too far when your talent is mediocre is risky.

LIL' WAYNE: ok, i get that you also have sold a kazillion records...but you're doing the t-pain. on EVERYBODY and their granny's song...and starting to sound mundane. not to mention, you are rumored to be addicted to cough syrup and who-knows-what-else and it's just not a good look. neither are you

MARIAH CAREY: madame, you're pushing 40 as well. and not only did this last album not live up to expectation, your style is remedial. i won't even discuss the fiasco of a wedding/husband you supposedly have...but to constantly have these butterfly/sparkly/micro-mini/high school fashion going on STILL is deplorable. i believe you should have evolved into a much more classy package, stop wearing the shades at night and focus on the music. i really think the pub stunt that was this marriage backfired and turned people off of this last album...gone are the days of Butterfly and Emancipation of Mimi-sigh

VIVICA A FOX: honey, i love me some aunt viv...but that show "Glam God" on vh1 is such a snooze, i'm ashamed she's affiliated with it. i know she probably needed the work, especially with how ridiculous Three Can Play That Game was...but this was not the move. and the funny wigs and sparkly outfits are just not working for me.

ICE-T: boo, what exactly is it that you do? i know you were a pioneer in the world of rap. but what are you doing now? all i see is you and the woman you call wife doing nasty and desparate acts in public. is that really your wife? you really don't care how you treat her in front of folks? she's really down for that mess? i just don't get it. are you all a traveling freak show? are you in a band? what gives?

NELLY: now, nelly...i just saw a commercial for your last album this morning. i had no idea! when did it come out? i never really was a fan of the music. simplistic nursery rhymes, cussing, bling-talk and chick dissing was never my cup of tea. but i did however become a fan of nelly the model. this is what i miss and think you should pursue. the rapping seems to be a rap sweetums

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
now on the flip side, there are some folks who i wish i could see more of:
JILL SCOTT
NIA LONG
MAXWELL
D'ANGELO (pre-crack)
ISAIAH WASHINGTON
DON CHEADLE
SANAA LATHAN
TONI BRAXTON
Just Another Manic Monday....
i am so extra blah today.... so i figured i'd share my scatter brain thoughts with you all
1. where can i get one of these?
2. baby is getting an i-dog today. i think i'm more excited than she'll be
3. oh my heavenly stars! i purchased some truffle salt (made with black truffles) and am trying not to just eat it out of the jar cuz its so yummy and aromatic *drooling*
4. speaking of black truffles...who knew something that looked like a big lump of poo could taste so good? i wonder who discovered it...google, here i come!
5. i went for my facial saturday and my aesthetician was excessively rough with me-ouch!
6. i went to see Tyler Perry's A Family That Preys and i wasn't totally disappointed...but i have a question...why do black people like to clap, talk, jump up and act like they're at home at the movies? its beyond ridiculous and PCD is known to go and get the usher! *sidenote* doesn't the profile on this poster look like jennifer hudson?
7. have you ever sat next to someone eating a hot dog, but you weren't eating one? the smell is terrible-bleh!
8. speaking of hot dogs, even tho i've totally banned real dogs from ever becoming pets in my home, if i had one, i totally make him wear this...
9. i am really needing some cotton candy in my life. i had some saturday night and now must go find some more..mmmmmmmmmmmm
10. this old lady who lives near an acquaintance of mine is always smoking like there's no tomorrow. she stops me and lil PCD to tell me that she makes ponchos for babies. thanks but no thanks, i don't want a smoky poncho for my kid.
11. i hate our beta fish. he's from the devil. he's always fanning his head fins (or whatever they're called) and trying to jump out of the water to snip at my finger when i feed him. the toilet's calling you, buddy!
12. what the heck was up with the weather yesterday? it was sickeningly hot! AND HUMID!!! i can't wait until fall is officially here cuz me and heat don't mix. and the added bonus is that all these bugs will die or hibernate or fly south or whatever they do
13. i made roasted & stuffed cornish hens with creamed collard greens and twice baked sweet potatoes yesterday....and by the time it was ready, i didn't even want to eat
14. i reeeeeeeeeally struggle with other people's kids. for instance, i really try not to bring my kid to places where i KNOW she'd be a disturbance to others. why doesn't everyone do that? like the MOVIES or the NAIL SPA? your newborn, toddler or A.D.D.-ridden older kid need not be forced to resistantly sit thru adult movies or running thru the nail spa painting their nails 10 different colors, especially if they're boys. if you HAVE to bring them, please let them be at a point where they can sit and be quiet. other people don't like it-UGH!!!
15. i love gong to farms to pick pumpkins and get fresh corn and herbs. we'll be there soon enough!
16. how much do i hate dora the football-headed explorer? let me count the ways...NOW, lil PCD is running around saying "awwwww, maaaaan" (a la swiper the fox) when you tell her something she doesn't like. i don't play that mess!
17. i woke up this morning to the movie "claudine," CLASSIC!!!!!!!!
*and that opening song of the movie is my fave..."gettin with the kissin, huggin and a'lovin, on and on"-LOLOLOLOL*
18. i want to zip cord thru the rainforest.....with 12 layers of bug spray on, goggles and my I-Pod of course!
19. i need a nap!
20. when i find a product that i like, i'm super loyal to it. but a lot of times, it ends up being discotinued or changed-ARGH!!! like my L'Occitane Milk Shower Mousse...now they're adding more shea and it changes the scent completely. and the lady had the nerve to try and tell me its the same thing, just with more shea. well, if it has more shea, its not the same...and it even smells different.
21. mimosa anyone?
***WHAT DID YOU DO THIS WEEKEND? WHAT'S ON YOUR BRAIN TODAY?***
