Just Another Manic Monday....

i am so extra blah today.... so i figured i'd share my scatter brain thoughts with you all

1. where can i get one of these?



2. baby is getting an i-dog today. i think i'm more excited than she'll be


3. oh my heavenly stars! i purchased some truffle salt (made with black truffles) and am trying not to just eat it out of the jar cuz its so yummy and aromatic *drooling*



4. speaking of black truffles...who knew something that looked like a big lump of poo could taste so good? i wonder who discovered it...google, here i come!



5. i went for my facial saturday and my aesthetician was excessively rough with me-ouch!

6. i went to see Tyler Perry's A Family That Preys and i wasn't totally disappointed...but i have a question...why do black people like to clap, talk, jump up and act like they're at home at the movies? its beyond ridiculous and PCD is known to go and get the usher! *sidenote* doesn't the profile on this poster look like jennifer hudson?



7. have you ever sat next to someone eating a hot dog, but you weren't eating one? the smell is terrible-bleh!

8. speaking of hot dogs, even tho i've totally banned real dogs from ever becoming pets in my home, if i had one, i totally make him wear this...



9. i am really needing some cotton candy in my life. i had some saturday night and now must go find some more..mmmmmmmmmmmm



10. this old lady who lives near an acquaintance of mine is always smoking like there's no tomorrow. she stops me and lil PCD to tell me that she makes ponchos for babies. thanks but no thanks, i don't want a smoky poncho for my kid.

11. i hate our beta fish. he's from the devil. he's always fanning his head fins (or whatever they're called) and trying to jump out of the water to snip at my finger when i feed him. the toilet's calling you, buddy!

12. what the heck was up with the weather yesterday? it was sickeningly hot! AND HUMID!!! i can't wait until fall is officially here cuz me and heat don't mix. and the added bonus is that all these bugs will die or hibernate or fly south or whatever they do

13. i made roasted & stuffed cornish hens with creamed collard greens and twice baked sweet potatoes yesterday....and by the time it was ready, i didn't even want to eat


14. i reeeeeeeeeally struggle with other people's kids. for instance, i really try not to bring my kid to places where i KNOW she'd be a disturbance to others. why doesn't everyone do that? like the MOVIES or the NAIL SPA? your newborn, toddler or A.D.D.-ridden older kid need not be forced to resistantly sit thru adult movies or running thru the nail spa painting their nails 10 different colors, especially if they're boys. if you HAVE to bring them, please let them be at a point where they can sit and be quiet. other people don't like it-UGH!!!

15. i love gong to farms to pick pumpkins and get fresh corn and herbs. we'll be there soon enough!



16. how much do i hate dora the football-headed explorer? let me count the ways...NOW, lil PCD is running around saying "awwwww, maaaaan" (a la swiper the fox) when you tell her something she doesn't like. i don't play that mess!



17. i woke up this morning to the movie "claudine," CLASSIC!!!!!!!!


*and that opening song of the movie is my fave..."gettin with the kissin, huggin and a'lovin, on and on"-LOLOLOLOL*

18. i want to zip cord thru the rainforest.....with 12 layers of bug spray on, goggles and my I-Pod of course!

20. when i find a product that i like, i'm super loyal to it. but a lot of times, it ends up being discotinued or changed-ARGH!!! like my L'Occitane Milk Shower Mousse...now they're adding more shea and it changes the scent completely. and the lady had the nerve to try and tell me its the same thing, just with more shea. well, if it has more shea, its not the same...and it even smells different.

PCD says: we met during our junior year in college thru a mutual acquaintance

PCD says: When we started doing the cheesiest things...but we didn't think it was cheesy-like taking pics of just our hands holding, or getting up at 3am just to see each other and go back to sleep. then when I cried my eyeballs out when I had to go back home after our first week together (we lived in different states at first)

PCD says: yes, one more suits me just fine, preferably another princess

PCD says: not as I should. I would like 5 days but I usually grind out 3
3. Do you have a nightly "unwind/relax" routine?
PCD says: nightly? I wish! But at least once a week I do take a night of insisted solitude in my peace space.
4. What's your skin care regimen?
PCD says: my aesthetician has me on a strict regime. I use products from my spa which consist of twice daily cleansing (of course), toning, 2 moisturizers, eye cream, weekly purifying masks and one extra day just for my nose and facials every 4 weeks
5. What do you love most about your husband and little miss?
PCD says: I love how my husband is a man’s man. He works hard and he lets me be the princess of everything. He’s very accommodating and will do anything (within the limits of the law) for my happiness. *he also never tells me no, sniggle*
Lil PCD is just a wonder to behold. She was such a beautiful surprise and her spunk makes me smile each and every day. She’s such a mommy’s girl and what I love most about her is…everything! :-)

PCD says: the way that it brought out the most selfless efforts I’ve ever accomplished…it has also placed the monumental task of shaping a young mind and I have had to (and continue to) make great changes almost every day. Everything I do is to help her have the best life possible.

PCD says: first, a vet…then an artist

i was sitting here this morning, with my mind racing. i have sooooooooo much going on that i am literally all over the place and i couldn't decide what to write about. i wondered what you guys really liked reading about here at The Pretty Circle or about PCD herself. so in true blog-biting fashion, my beautylicious readers may ask anything* of PCD (as long as it is not vulgar). which i know none of my readers would do...but just in case a newcomer stumbles into the circle during this post...voila! i will answer all questions honestly so ask awaaaaaaaaaaaay... oh, and i will let this post stay posted until monday so people have a chance to get their questions in and i'll have the answers in a post for tuesday. also, since i'm already getting requests for pics, i MAY post a pic on tuesday morning sometime between 8am-12pm.

i woke up this morning with a lot of questions that i don't necessarily have an answer to on my mind, so i figured, why not make a post out of them? so............

WHY do i usually forget to feed our fish?

WHY does the humidity make my hair look like annie?

WHY am i watching Good Morning America and those dang-blasted clintons are still grabbing headlines?

WHY did i click past BET last night and the BET awards were on?

WHY did i pause on the channel to see what was going on?

WHY did alicia keys insist on wearing yeast infection jeans? *we all know you're hippy, but that was in poor taste...and so was the egyptian wig. you're waaaaaaay too fab for that*

WHY did i not know 75% of the people /songs/antics?

WHY did i grow increasingly embarrassed by some of the buffoonery?

WHY does my husband snore like a friggin wilderbest with a foghorn up his nose? *hurling pillow at his head*

WHY did someone call my phone before 8am this morning? thats so rude. unless its an emergency, don't call me before 8! i don't want to have to turn my ringer off cuz something might actually happen. dang...have some couth! i shouldn't have to say this, but there's always somebody...

WHY was there a four car smash-up on the highway early this morning and 3 people were thrown from their cars? seatbelts are the truth people...

WHY am i fiending for some fried green tomatoes but still get the willies cuz they are confusing me...one week tomatoes are cool, the next week, they're not...from this region, its ok, not from there...no thanx!

WHY is our fish circling the top of his tank, fluttering and having seizures looking for food...(*PCD, get up and feed that dang thing*)

WHY did some 7 year old drive his grandmother's car to the mall? *i've never understood how these things happen...are the adults in the house doing mushrooms while the kids just run wild?*

WHY have i still not finished painting my daughter's rocking chair....all i have to do is cover up a mistake and paint her name...it only took me 2 days to completely hand-paint and its been a month now that i haven't put the finsihing touch on...le sigh

WHY is it supposed to thunderstorm this weekend and we're going to the blueberry bash? curses!!!

WHY did i have the yummiest dinner last night made up of baked sole wrapped around lump crabmeat, pan-seared garlic scallops, steamed asparagus and a fresh salad with seasoned feta and cranberries?

WHY is my schedule super crazy...between lil PCD's gymnastics, music & dance and swim lessons and my women's meeting, book club and 2 day per week chiropractor appointments...i'm boggled! and i have to fit shopping, family & friend time and play dates into all of this-YIKES!!! somehow we get it done....*thank goodness for wine, bubble baths and spas*

WHY do i have some of the most fab and diverse readers?

WHY do i ALWAYS go shopping for one or two things tops and end up buying 75 things?

WHY when i end up purchasing extra stuff does that start me on a mission and i start going places i didn't even plan on shopping at?

LEGS!

i love my legs...for real! i used to hate them, because they are so long. and of course, when you're growing up, you don't appreciate things about yourself that set you apart. but as the years have passed, i have fallen more and more in love with my legs. i love their color...how they escalate me above the masses and glide me into a room...how the muscles look when i walk or stand still...how great they look in dresses...how fab shoes are the last and most important ingredient to my leggy lusciousness...YAAAAAY for legs!

*this is the fridge. top shelf has some fresh mint, baby yogurt with that heifer dora the explorer on it, some smirnoff tea coolers, some mint lemonade, coffee creamer and pancakes. middle shelf has lots of cheeses, (cream cheese, mascarpone,cheddar, mozzarella), eggs, chicken broth and lil PCD's juice boxes. she also loves prune juice. bottom shelf has fruit (watermelon, oranges, peaches, apples), some dinner rolls, baby spinach, sour cream, feta cheese and collard greens.



*fridge drawer just has a bunch of salad and asparagus

*the fridge door consists of lots and lots of salad dressings (i eat lots of salad obviously), some white cooking wine, parmesan cheese, aloe vera (it feels so good & soothing on your skin when its cold!), wine, about 4 different types of mustard, capers, ketchup, garlic, baby's medicine, a small jar of mayonnaise, steak sauce and baking soda. up top is butter, baby juice and lemon juice

*freezer has some veggies, hash browns, ice cream cake from father's day, pizza, chicken nuggets, garlic bread, butter, ice, meat and these new bagel things i saw on tv called bagelfuls...haven't eaten them yet tho


*freezer door has veggies, whole grain pancakes, baby's ice pack and popsicles

*cabinet has the spices, grits, olive oil and spray, lots of crystal light, coffee, brown sugar, soup mix, and lots of tea and rice

*cabinet has baby fruits (i told you she liked prunes), some dried prunes, oatmeal for lil PCD (i hate oatmeal), her cookies and crackers, a ton of splenda packets next to some salad plates i've never used, emergen-c vitamin c powder packets, noodles, rice, beans, english muffins and taco shells

THIS WAS FUN! and i don't want to hear ONE WORD about how obsessed i am about order. i told ya'll a while back that i have to have order in my life so now you see i wasn't playing. if you like this tag and haven't done it yet, feel free. i can't tag anybody else cuz i just tagged people last week. 20 Interesting Things About PCD

i figured that today's post should be about MEEEEEEEE!!!! LOL! seriously, i thought i'd just jot down some things that my blog family may not know about me. this is my attempt at being interesting :-S



20. i am terrified of catching some fungus or disease when getting my nails done (have you ever on occassion peeked into the next foot bin?) , so i have my own tools for them to use


















19. i am a neat FREAK! tags must face a certain way, cabinet organization is tightly monitored, and i love the smell of clorox clean-up.

18. i eat tomatoes, but cannot stand the inside where the wet, mushy seeds are...so i usually just cut from the outer part. if i am using a slice of a tomato, i remove all of the seeds and wetness.

17. i don't believe in white chocolate. i have a firm belief that white chocolate seems unnatural and the taste and texture seems synthetic in comparison to regular brown chocolate. i will not eat it unless its barely detectable like maybe drizzled on something else.

16. i love candy. i can get out of bed and start eating it right away.

15. i love star jones (soon-to-be ex-reynolds)...so much so, i named my cat after her.

14. i am a certified phlebotomist. i was bored one day so i decided to take a class in something i knew nothing about, so i chose phlebotomy. and even tho i am "certified" i have never worked a day in that industry and never would. i hate being stuck so i don't think i could ever really stick people.

13. i LOVE pink

12. i've aways wondered what its like to have a weave. for some reason, i am intrigued by them. they look so neat...but i do not have the patience to sit for the braiding process and gluing is out of the question, so i guess i'll never get one :-S

11. i am obsessed with haut-chocolat (exotic chocolates). i love truffles infused with curry, hot chili peppers, violet flowers, wasabi, and manchego cheese

10. i have arthritis

9. i love dressing my hubby. he trusts my tastes so he pretty much wears whatever i buy...and i love buying!!!!

8. i have to go to target at least once a week or i won't feel normal :-S

7. i love to burn oils...candles are cute, but their fragrance doesn't carry enough for me. they are banished to the bathroom and i only burn them during bubble baths

6. i was once robbed by a crackhead. and after some super sleuthing...i found him and had him arrested.

5. i have NO problem speaking out against foolishness. i just had a bout with racism in one of my fave places where i was next in line, clearly standing at the counter. my friend was about 4 feet away from me. a woman walked in and pushed her way in between us and when the person behind the counter asked who was next, she started to speak. well, after i gave her the look of you-must-be-nuts, i kindly let her know that unless she was blind, she knew very well i was next and that she best excuse herself to the area behind my friend. she looked at me like-*gasp* how dare you? then she left the store...maybe she was embarrassed, but i loved it! i used to let stuff like that go and mumble under my breath...no more my friend!

4. i love games!!!

3. photography is my love. i take pics EVERYWHERE i go. my friends usually grow weary of it, but i have a 20 pic minimum when we go out to events

2. i want patti labelle to adopt me-lol! seriously, i love her and she seems like such a down-home type. i bet dinners and gatherings at her place are so fun, at least they are in my mind :-)

1. i had a neighbor evicted from her home for creating disturbances and endangering the welfare of her neighbors. it took about 3 months and lots of research and digging, but i got it done! YAY! don't mess with PCD!!!!!!!!!!!
