It's A Celebration!

Today marks my 111th post! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! and yes, i chose to celebrate the 111th because the number is composed completely of number 1's...i'm quirky like that-lol!!! so, in celebration, take a few secs and get your moonwalk on in the name of PCD-WHOOPEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

also, because of this mounmental occasion, i am treating myself to 3 wonderful gifts in order of fabulousness...

1. my very own personal assistant.

like most, i am busy. sometimes, there aren't enough hours in a day to accomplish all that i set out to. i hate that. also, there are some things i'd rather not do and love that i can pass it off to the next person. i wouldn't abuse the person and have them live with us or be on call 24 hours a day, but working for me would be no cake-walk. i don't want a friend, a homie, someone to shoot the breeze with....its all about W-O-R-K. and 6 hours a day is just fine....thanx!

2. chef

as much as i loooooooooove to eat, i must admit, i really don't like to cook. every now and again, the spirit moves me and i actually want to get in the kitchen...but those times are few and far between. not to mention, i get tired of trying to find new and interesting things to fix. i only need you 5 days a week...thanx!

3. permanent driver

i am tired of driving...period. sometimes, the traffic and other drivers up here can be so crazy, you feel like you're trying to jump into the Indy 500. you have to push and force your way over, around and into the flow...horns blare, taxis bulldoze you out of the way...it's just not a peaceful experience. i'd rather be able to sit back and enjoy the ride...thanx!

Things About PCD

1. i miss my cat, starr jones. she lives with my parents because i couldn't have her when i was pregnant. then she had to stay longer after lil PCD was born cuz we were scared she'd be all in her face. now she hates me for abandoning her and doesn't want to come back because lil PCD can chase and certainly does terrorize her :-(

2. garage sales make me nauseous. the thought that you could buy something from a crazy person really freaks me out. like what of jeffrey dahmer had a garage sale before everyone knew he was eating folks up? you never know what people do in their house so i'd rather not even think about it

3. i really shop too much in the fall. its like a disease...but the fall fashion just calls me...ah well!

4. i'm having a tough time getting g. garvin out of my head (and my dreams) *swoon*

5. is there anything more disgusting than cilantro? the sight, smell and certainly the taste makes my insides boil! and its EVERYWHERE! grrrrrrr

6. i am bursting with excitement to see Miracle At St. Anna by Spike Lee (in theaters september 26)

7. i potty-trained lil PCD by 21 months. i'm dern proud of it too!

8. i have phases when i am totally addicted to certain types of candy or junk food. this week, its been peanut m&ms. i have some every night (i know...the horror!) last week, it was salt & vinegar chips...and i don't even like chips. these little moments come and go...it's so weird. and you won't believe what i ate last night....my husband laughed me off of the phone when i asked him to go get some

9. growing up, i used to HATE southern cuisine like collard greens or black-eyed peas and i didn't even know what okra was. well, i LOVE southern food now...(except for the slimy okra). and nothing too eccentric like hogmaws(?) or pig's anything. (p.s. does anyone know what exactly a hogmaw is? is it like a hog paw?)

10. i have it bad for whole foods market. i can't drive past them without buying things even if i was just there 2 days before. the people started recognizing me so much that i found another one to go to...even tho its further away. i figured since its bigger, maybe i could hide out a little longer before people start busting me out-lol!

Dream Job Supreme

i awoke this morning to the movie The Santa Clause 3. its a cute, feel-good holiday movie about the north pole and the guy who stumbled upon the job of being santa. years before, santa had fallen off of a roof and vanished, leaving the santa suit behind. this guy put on his jacket and became santa and even tho his job was stressful, he loved it.






i started thinking about different jobs and their stress level versus the fulfillment of said job. i thought about a job i'd love to have (aside from mommy)...but of course i made up unrealistic stipulations to go along with it. if i could pick my ultimate dream job...i'd be an award-winning actress. i'm not one for a routine day doing the same thing over and over. i like-need change EVERY day.





i'd have a stellar career doing an array of films. i'd receive a couple of oscars, some golden globes and a star on the hollywood walk of fame. i'd stay on the east coast tho cuz i need some type of real seasonal change.



once i established myself as a film icon, i'd use my resources to become a serious humanitarian...i use the word serious because the money i'd have access to would allow me to do so much more...i'm talking as close to oprah level i could get. i'd thrive off of the hectic schedule, the distant lands of travel, the awesome array of people i'd meet and the unlimited amount of access i'd have for accomplishing things that seem a bit out of reach now. so...........

Food, Glorious Food!

greetings everyone! PCD here is a foodie. i believe that being a foodie is an attribute. its fun, adventurous, and of course, tasty! some of my peers and even my mum think its weird. they think i'm obsessed with food. i'm so not...i just "enjoy and appreciate various tastes."










that being said, i make it a point to find new and innovative places to eat. i get excited about food. i like to get dressed up and go eat. i take pictures of beautiful food. and most of all, i love to EAT!!! for some reason, i am all about asian right now. every now and again, i hone in on a type of food and can't seem to get enough of it.

The Pretty Spotlight: The Ipod Touch

dear ipod touch, i'm in love with you.

now i'm no techy, but this is such a fabulous accessory that i really had to post about it today. hubby got me the Ipod Touch and i have been enamored with it for a number of reasons. the touch screen is so easy to work (even the type pad) and the format for everything is so highly organized, that it has become my new personal assistant. for men and their big hands, i must say that the type pad is a little slim, but after a little while, anyone could get the hang of it. (i did watch a man in the store type away with no hassle but he had 3 weeks of working it). i love how you can scroll thru your music by album cover. the calendar is well organized with various views that are super swell and of course...it looks so cool!







i highly recommend this to anyone who needs some organizational help and a place for their music. you'll be surprised how you'll use all of the other functions like navigation, youtube, weather and all. oh, and don't be sassy like me and think you can be lazy and purchase a stylus for touching buttons because that does not work-lol! and of course, i had to dress mine in a snazzy pink leather cover. TOO CUTE!!

bonjour, mes amis! i hope everyone had a great mother's day/week/weekend!






its the time of year when we peel off the hats, scarves and boots...and slide into some sandals, flirty dresses and linen. and i, personally can't wait to go on my next GNO (girls night out). we typically like to go overboard with the fashion, and fabulosity....meaning we love to enjoy places that have great food, great ambiance and great people posing about. we never do anything casual on a GNO. we always decide to go somewhere flashy where dressing up is required. there's just something about putting on a slinky dress, fab heels with a perfect face and hair. LOVES IT!!!!!!!

20 Interesting Things About PCD

i figured that today's post should be about MEEEEEEEE!!!! LOL! seriously, i thought i'd just jot down some things that my blog family may not know about me. this is my attempt at being interesting :-S



20. i am terrified of catching some fungus or disease when getting my nails done (have you ever on occassion peeked into the next foot bin?) , so i have my own tools for them to use


















19. i am a neat FREAK! tags must face a certain way, cabinet organization is tightly monitored, and i love the smell of clorox clean-up.

18. i eat tomatoes, but cannot stand the inside where the wet, mushy seeds are...so i usually just cut from the outer part. if i am using a slice of a tomato, i remove all of the seeds and wetness.

17. i don't believe in white chocolate. i have a firm belief that white chocolate seems unnatural and the taste and texture seems synthetic in comparison to regular brown chocolate. i will not eat it unless its barely detectable like maybe drizzled on something else.

16. i love candy. i can get out of bed and start eating it right away.

15. i love star jones (soon-to-be ex-reynolds)...so much so, i named my cat after her.

14. i am a certified phlebotomist. i was bored one day so i decided to take a class in something i knew nothing about, so i chose phlebotomy. and even tho i am "certified" i have never worked a day in that industry and never would. i hate being stuck so i don't think i could ever really stick people.

13. i LOVE pink

12. i've aways wondered what its like to have a weave. for some reason, i am intrigued by them. they look so neat...but i do not have the patience to sit for the braiding process and gluing is out of the question, so i guess i'll never get one :-S

11. i am obsessed with haut-chocolat (exotic chocolates). i love truffles infused with curry, hot chili peppers, violet flowers, wasabi, and manchego cheese

10. i have arthritis

9. i love dressing my hubby. he trusts my tastes so he pretty much wears whatever i buy...and i love buying!!!!

8. i have to go to target at least once a week or i won't feel normal :-S

7. i love to burn oils...candles are cute, but their fragrance doesn't carry enough for me. they are banished to the bathroom and i only burn them during bubble baths

6. i was once robbed by a crackhead. and after some super sleuthing...i found him and had him arrested.

5. i have NO problem speaking out against foolishness. i just had a bout with racism in one of my fave places where i was next in line, clearly standing at the counter. my friend was about 4 feet away from me. a woman walked in and pushed her way in between us and when the person behind the counter asked who was next, she started to speak. well, after i gave her the look of you-must-be-nuts, i kindly let her know that unless she was blind, she knew very well i was next and that she best excuse herself to the area behind my friend. she looked at me like-*gasp* how dare you? then she left the store...maybe she was embarrassed, but i loved it! i used to let stuff like that go and mumble under my breath...no more my friend!

4. i love games!!!

3. photography is my love. i take pics EVERYWHERE i go. my friends usually grow weary of it, but i have a 20 pic minimum when we go out to events

2. i want patti labelle to adopt me-lol! seriously, i love her and she seems like such a down-home type. i bet dinners and gatherings at her place are so fun, at least they are in my mind :-)

1. i had a neighbor evicted from her home for creating disturbances and endangering the welfare of her neighbors. it took about 3 months and lots of research and digging, but i got it done! YAY! don't mess with PCD!!!!!!!!!!!
