all because i'm dog-sitting. yes, PCD opened up her big trap and said she'd keep her neighbor's dog for a whole week. and in my mind, i was genuinely excited about the idea because i feel like i want to own a dog one day. because he's old (5 years) and seemingly calm, i thought all would be cool. then i actually took my big-mouthedness a step further and said that i'd let him sleep at my house a FEW days in said week so he won't be crazy lonely. so why when i went to get his instructions for his feedings and stuff, was he packed to stay at my house for the whole week....dog bed, suitcase, food, dog book, emergency numbers, toys, medicine and all. so i calmly tried to let her know i just wanted him to sleep maybe a night or two at our house and she was like "no, he'll be fine."
CURSES!!! i always do this. i get myself into situations and sometimes find it hard to just shut stuff down. i mean, she went on and on about how he won't be lonely now and won't have separation issues cuz he'll be with us the whole time, blah, blah. so i was like-whatev. and he has the nerve to be cute!?!?! he's really not bad....its just the extra stuff that is now in my already jam-packed schedule. like, walking him 2 times a day (which was the minimum i expected to be doing), along with feeding, brushing, giving allergy meds, eye drops, ear wipes, bacon treats in the AM, biscuit treats at night, making sure he's not terrifying lil PCD, taking her build-a-bear buddy out from his tug-of-war grasp, keeping him from scratching my doors by putting up baby gates, and keeping him from snatching my baby's food off of her tray.
*le sigh* PCD"s life....is now...a dog's life

LOL. Dog-sitting? Dreadful. I have also been there, but can't recall anything specific. More like--when I say I'm going to help friends out and it turns out to be more time-consuming than anticipated.
LOL!! This is so funny....I couldn't help but think back to 1997 when I lived in Dekalb, IL (major corn fields) and my mother convinced me to dog sit her pride and joy Sheeba....well at the time my cousin and I were roommates and she let some "friend" stay a few days at our apartment...which I wasn't in agreement with...long story short the girl was scared of dogs and while we were gone...Sheeba ended up outside...Whatever happened scared Sheeba so bad that my cousin said she jumped into the pool...and then ran to the corn field where my cousin was able to catch up with her...BUT Sheeba was so terrified of someone or something that she wouldn't even come back to my cousin....She disappeared...AND I...had to call my mother and tell her that her dog was gone...mind you...my brother had just been killed a few months before that....She and my stepdad actually left their vacation and was at my college the next day....I literally drove around with a dog whistle all night looking for Sheeba...she was never found...and I have been the blame since...mind you...it was my cousin's fault!!
Sheeba was a black poodle...but now she has a white one named Romeo...who she loves like a child! He got out one day while I was at her house...and I drove around the neighborhood like a mad woman...cause my mama said "if her dog wasn't home when she got there...I'd better be gone!"...lol...I was so happy to see a white dog in a red sweater running down the street...thank God for Romeo's return...
i love dogs. i tip my hat to you for doing this. i dunno if i could have.

last thing I regret signing up for? my mom askeed me to help edits this woman's children book that she knew from her church, so of course I said yes because its my mom- what can I do?
Well, the editing goes well and she's actually a sweet woman. Except the whole car ride home she kept preaching to me, trying to get me to join the church and believe what she believes... I had to remind myself to smile and nod and be polite so as not to give my mom a bad name!
LOL..lil buddy is high maitnence *sp*..
